Hello, and what this is for
I've written a lot of things that are now gone. Internal docs behind an SSO I no longer have, threads on a platform that renamed itself, Slack messages in a workspace I was offboarded from. Some of it was worth keeping.
So: a site. Files in a git repo, rendered to static HTML, on a domain I own. If it disappears it will be because I deleted it.
What you'll find
Posts about backend systems — APIs, contracts, migrations, and the unglamorous parts of making something scale. I'm more interested in the decisions than the frameworks. A post about a BFF is really a post about where a rule should live.
Projects, including things that shipped to millions of people and things that were a weekend and then nothing.
Al día — videos and posts I'd otherwise send you in a DM.
How it's built
Deliberately boring, which felt like the only honest option given what I write about:
- Next.js with
output: "export", sonpm run buildproduces a folder of HTML and nothing else runs anywhere - Posts are MDX files in
content/posts/, so publishing is a commit - No database, no API, no analytics script, no cookie banner — because there are no cookies to warn you about
- Embeds load on click, so nothing reaches YouTube or X until you ask
There's a small Go CLI in tools/blogctl that scaffolds posts and refuses to
let me commit a file with broken frontmatter. It exists because I know myself.
The RSS feed works
It's at /rss.xml. No newsletter, no signup, nothing that needs your email address. If something here is useful, that's the whole arrangement.
